BOBBY IS MY FAVOURITE PARENT EVER.
Ok, so Burt Hummel accepted his son’s sexuality with an open heart and Molly Weasley took an orphan into her heart and home like a son and stepped up to duel a crazy death eater to protect her children
But Bobby Singer took two broken child soldiers and gave them a childhood. He raised them, protected them and gave them a stable home. He sold his soul for a way to kill the devil and died for his adopted boys. He was there for their good times and their bad times. He got them through the death of their bio-dad, the deaths of each other and the death of their only true friend.
He is the only thing that stops them from falling apart. The Winchester boys may have lived through the death of their Mother, their Father, their friends and each other, but they will not survive the death of Bobby. He is their rock.
Bobby is what every parent should aspire to be.

Cas dies.
And when they recover his body it’s Bobby who waits until the pyre flames are dull embers in the dirt.
“You were like a son to me.” He says to the sky - hoping that stupid angel can hear him wherever he is.
Six months later when Cas comes back he pulls Bobby aside (after Dean and Sam have had their time, of course) and he smiles - a soft private smile - and says. “I would be proud.”
“Proud of what now?”
“If you were my father.”
If Bobby tears up a little, the angel never mentions it to anyone, and they turn in silence to join the rest of their family.
